First Take on “Amoris Laetitia”

First and foremost, read the pope’s document for yourself.  Yes, it’s 264 pages long.  Yes, it’s not always the easiest thing to read.  Yes, it will take time.  But it is worth it.  Do yourself a favor.

My initial reactions may be read over on Aleteia.  http://aleteia.org/2016/04/08/amoris-laetitia-overview-we-advance-together-strong-helping-the-weak/

The revolution is a shift to treating us like Adults who make decisions with our consciences and are responsible to God for those decisions. Nagging never moves the mission. It makes recipients feel unwanted or at least undervalued.
Putting mercy, conscience, accompaniment in the front window and rules and scolding in the back, is what is needed.

With all due respect: “We can drink to the rules, if you like. But to Mercy first.”
